Remember you had some math to finish for Friday morning: Lesson 3.6 Order of Operations in the PRACTICE BOOK. Some of you did not have it done Friday morning. So hopefully you will have it done for Monday.
We had a great time watching the Rugby 7s at BC Place! Thanks, Division 2 for being such great students on this field trip! Thanks to all the parents who volunteered their time to help drive and/or supervise for the day – we couldn’t have enjoyed this field trip without them!
Thursday, Feb 22
RUGBY 7s FIELD TRIP: we go tomorrow, Friday, Feb 23! Part of the rugby experience is that fans get dressed up in costumes! Dress up in a costume if you would like to – our theme is Disney movie characters. Alternatively, you can dress up in red & white to cheer on Team Canada or in the colours to support your own favourite rugby team.
Remember, if you bring a lunch/water bottle, please put it in a small bag, not a full-size backpack. Yes you can purchase food and beverages from the concessions but BC Place does not take cash. No electronic devices on the field trip (unless your parent has emailed me to say you need it to pay for food from the concession).
Tuesday, Feb. 20th
MATHS: Finish order of operations with decimals Lesson 3.6, pg 109, #1a/b, 2a/b, 3 and 6. Due tomorrow Wednesday
ECO -FAIR: All research should be done. The good copy for your display boards is due this Friday! Then you build display boards and create product next week. You can bring a tri-fold of your own from home or we do have a few “used” tri-folds at school that you can reuse.
RUGBY 7s: field trip to BC Place this Friday. You can bring your own lunch and water bottle but no big backpacks. No electronics, thanks. BC Place is CASHLESS so bring a credit card or debit card or use the cash-to-card system to purchase a guest voucher for BC Place Vendors. Please note: the line-up at the cash to card kiosk can be VERY long and concession lineups are also long so you could spend 2 hours simply standing in line!
Thursday, Feb 15th
ECO-FAIR: please work on your research this weekend. All research is due Tuesday, Feb. 20th! Next week you will type up a good copy of your research notes and prepare everything that will go on the tri-fold display board. See the criteria for the display below:

Maths: Lesson 3.5 Dividing Decimals, (#3, 4, 5, 6, 9 10, 12 only) in the PRACTICE BOOK is due Thursday. Remember to estimate first (except for #4 and #5). You can use a calculator for the word problems but write down what you were dividing (don’t forget to estimate first). Then check the answer you get with your estimate to see if it is reasonable.
FRENCH: digital comic book is due end of day Thursday. Remember you have to record the story too! You are speaking as the characters and narrator if you have one.
STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES: Day 2 of our class Open House is Thurs Feb 15th. Early dismissal at 2:00pm on these days. See you tomorrow if you scheduled the conference for Thursday.
Conference packages will go home tomorrow to any families who could not attend the Open House. Please complete the conference at your convenience and return the portfolio by next Friday, Feb 23.

Reminder: check with your parents about an ice cream sundae topping you could bring in Wednesday for our “sundae party” – Ms Cheng’s bringing the ice cream!
ECO-FAIR Independent Inquiry Project: keep up with research. You’ve had your research assessed by peers and you did your own self-assessment. Use the feedback and reflection to catch up on any gaps in your project.
Remember, if the goal of this project is to…
“Educate, inform, inspire your community to understand the impact humans can have on the Earth, share a plan to stop or reverse this impact, and become stewards of the Earth…”
…what do you need to work on to achieve this goal successfully?
