MATHS: Study for the Unit test which is tomorrow and make sure you have a basic calculator. Use the Extra Practice booklet given out today to help you study (there are answers in the back so you can check your work)

For the test, you need to know:

  • fractions patterns (think what’s unique about thirds, fifths, ninths etc)
  • convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
  • decimal patterns, repeating decimals, and terminating decimals
  • compare decimals and fractions, ordering decimals and fractions
  • using benchmarks, number lines and equivalent fractions to compare fractions
  • different strategies for comparing fractions and decimals
  • how to estimate reasonably
  • how to add and subtract decimals
  • how to multiply and divide decimals
  • order of operations with decimals
  • relating fractions, decimals and percent
  • solve problems with fractions and decimals
  • solve percent problems (percent of a number)

FRENCH: do some review for the quiz on Thursday. You should know your numbers up to 60, calendar vocabulary, greetings, weather. Do not stress though – this is a quiz only and it will be suited to your capabilities. There will be some word banks and spelling will be a separate mark.
