ECO FAIR: It was a wild success! Congratulations once again! I’ve received so many glowing comments from other teachers and students about your amazing exhibits! Well done everyone!

MATHS: Please do some review for the Unit test on Tuesday. You can use your notebook, your PRACTICE book and the online textbook to help you study. Review all the lessons. There’s a unit review in the Practice book too.

For the test, you need to know:

  • fractions patterns (think what’s unique about thirds, fifths, ninths etc)
  • decimal patterns, repeating decimals, and terminating decimals
  • converting fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
  • comparing decimals and fractions, ordering decimals and fractions
  • using benchmarks, number lines and equivalent fractions to compare fractions
  • different strategies for comparing fractions and decimals
  • how to estimate reasonably
  • how to add and subtract decimals
  • how to multiply and divide decimals
  • order of operations with decimals
  • relating fractions, decimals and percent
  • solving problems with fractions and decimals
  • solving percent problems (percent of a number)

FRENCH: there will be a quiz on Thursday. Practice your French. You should know your numbers 1 to 60, calendar vocabulary, greetings, weather. Do not stress – this is a quiz only and it will be suited to your capabilities.
